Firstly, if you’re reading this — thank you! Thank you for following along or simply stumbling across my website and taking the time to read this.
But hey — how are you? I hope you’re doing well!
Let’s take a moment to recap. It’s been about two years (going on three) since I created this website, which I originally intended to use as both a portfolio and a journal to help me land a cybersecurity position. During that time, I did secure a cybersecurity job; however, it isn’t very technical or challenging.
I’m extremely grateful for the role, but now I’m searching for my next steps. I’m in a place where I need to figure out how my non-technical position can help me transition into a technical one. Almost every job I’m interested in seems to require some level of technical skill or hands-on experience that I don’t yet have. This has left me feeling a bit lost — unsure of how to get to the career I really want.
To tackle this, I’ve started exploring different cybersecurity projects again. While these projects are helping me grow, they still don’t fully replace real-world experience.
Where I’m headed next
Even though it can feel overwhelming at times, I’m genuinely excited about what’s ahead. I’m eager to expand my skills, dive deeper into technical learning, and document the process here. My hope is that by sharing both my challenges and my progress, this space can become more than just a personal journal — it can be a resource and encouragement for anyone else navigating a similar path.
So stick around! In the coming months, I’ll be posting about the projects I’m working on, the lessons I’m learning, and the steps I’m taking toward a more technical cybersecurity career. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
